Machine Applique

At the demo on Machine Applique, the instructor uses steam a seam lite.  She uses Bottom Line thread in the bobbin and Gammett polyester in the top.  The needle is embroidery 75/11. You could use a securing stitch.  She4 uses open toe foot 20C, and puts the needle to the right.  She puts stabilizer on the back.  She likes the double blanket stitch with the length at 2.5 and the length at 2.5


When using batiks with the seam allowances turned under, she uses Invisifil, wt. 100 on top and Bottom Line in the bobbin.  She uses a Microtex 60/8 or 70/10.  She does not use stabilizer but loosens the tension.


To prepare applique for fusible applique, she draws the pattern on the shine side and uses a glue pencil and 2 metal sticks.
